Often referred to as A-Basin, Arapahoe Basin is known to locals as "The Legend" because of its extended ski season--usually staying open until early June whereas other resorts in the county tend to close by May. On a bountiful snow season, A-Basin even has the potential to be open on the 4th of July! Arapahoe Basin is mostly known for advanced and expert terrain, but also has runs for novice and intermediate skiers. The Legend is located south of Loveland Pass on Highway 6.
